We hope you will join us at 6:30 on Thursday, May 6th, for our conversation and tasting of the superb Barossa Valley wines of Elderton Vineyards. The proprietor, Allister Ashmead, will be with us live to talk about his winery and wines. Founded in 1982, Elderton is run by second-generation brothers Cameron and Allister and offers some of the best wines that the region has to offer. It benefits from some of the most renowned Single Vineyard Wines with its Command Shiraz and Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon that have been sourced from vineyards dating back to 1894 and 1944 respectively.

We tasted these wines together on May 6th. You can watch it here:

You can see our complete schedule of upcoming tastings here:

We are excited to share these three wines with you, in this order:

2019 Elderton E Series Unoaked Chardonnay, $17.99

A fresh pear and apple nose here with a gentle honeycomb edge, as well as candied lemon. The palate has some crunchy textural elements that sustain the fruit in a fresh, bright mode.

2018 Elderton Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, $22.99

This is Eden Valley dominant and has aromas of violets, blueberries, black cherries, and dark berry pastry with attractive cedar and fresh tobacco notes. The palate offers very attractive chocolate, plum paste, and licorice. Smoothly layered tannins with blueberry flavor and a little oak spice to close. Great concentration. Drink over the next eight years. 93 points from James Suckling!

2014 Elderton Command Shiraz, $90.99

From vines planted in 1894, the 2014 Command Single Vineyard Shiraz aged in a combination of French and American oak (80% new). Aromas of smoky campfire and vanilla lead the way, followed by expressive raspberry fruit. It's full-bodied and lush across the palate, creamy in texture, impressive in its concentration, and balanced by a crisp, fruit-driven finish. Quintessential Barossa Shiraz. 96 points from Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate!
