Poggio Antico is a winery tucked away in one of Montalcino's most elevated sites. Working with painstaking attention to detail and very low yields, they produce great wines which are truly unique in their elegance and complexity.
We are tasting these wines together at 6:30 on Thursday, May 13th. Join us here for the tasting: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/98316126746?pwd=Nk85Q2NGMm4zU3dSVnhWWG92Uk5sQT09

2015 Poggio Antico Madre, $47.99
The 2015 Madre hits it out of the ballpark. This blend of equal parts Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon has benefitted in a particularly positive manner from the heat and warm sunshine of this vintage. The wine offers fleshy richness and fiber that stems directly from the fruit. In other words, it does not feel constructed by oak or over extraction. Instead, this wine appears naturally full-bodied and voluptuous with black fruit favors, black currant, and lots of spicy cured tobacco. This is a terrific Tuscan red. 94+ points from The Wine Advocate!

2013 Poggio Antico Brunello di Montalcino, $57.99
A silky and smooth interpretation of Sangiovese from a cool and classic vintage. The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino offers a balanced bouquet with equal parts dark fruit, spice, and grilled herb. This wine delivers a soft and delicate approach with firm tannins that are well integrated within the greater flesh and texture of the wine. 93 points from The Wine Advocate!
