Name: Didier Meuzard Ratafia de Bourgogne
Producer: Didier Meuzard
Spirit Type: Ratafia
From the Importer:
“Ratafia” is a cordial made by mixing marc or fine either with unfermented grape juice (as here) or, occasionally, with bitter almonds and/or cherry and peach pits. A famous ratafia is Ratafia de Champagne, a grape-based vin doux naturel wine from France’s Champagne region. Each country has its own national brandy, many of which are not made from wine: grappa in Italy is made from grape skins, slivivitz in Poland is made from plums, shochu in Japan is made from rice, and bourbon in the United States is made from corn."
