472. Seduction of Pinot Noir:
Pinot Noir might just be the ultimate grape for making wine. It is transparent enough to show the terroir of each place it’s grown but also has enough of its own style to still be recognizable as being pinot noir. Ultimately Pinot Noir becomes the wine of Kings and Queens and in this very special class we’re going to look at some of the benchmark wines of Pinot Noir.
We’ll start in Burgundy where we’ll look at wines from Maison Leroy and Domaine Roumier, move to Oregon for Eyrie Vineyards and the more modern master of Pinot Noir at Division, head south to California for the unique Clos Saron and the sauve Failla, then explore different versions of Pinot Noir from South Africa and from Champagne.
In essence, this class is all about the seduction of Pinot Noir through the lens of some of the best wines made from the grape.
