"Bright ruby-red. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, cherry liqueur and sandalwood; I sense the Taransaud barrels. Sweet, densely packed and full, showing a plush, velvety texture to its flavors of red berries and forest floor. This wonderfully suave, seamless wine finishes with a broad dusting of tannins and excellent persistence." -- Stephen Tanzer

"Januik’s 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Champoux Vineyard saturates the palate with nearly liqueur-like black raspberry and cassis tinged with mace, tonka nut and vanilla, yet retains a sense of freshness and vivacity as well as offsetting notes of fruit pit and toasted nut piquancy. The long finish manages to both sooth and refresh, and this polished performance should be sustained for at least the better part of a decade."

"Stiff and tannic, this wine’s bold black-cherry flavor, which is characteristic of the Champoux Vineyard, is veined with iron and gravel notes, plus a clover hint. It’s complex and riveting, and the tannins finish with a peppery bite."

"A gritty red, with a supple layer of spicy plum and currant flavors that extend into the long, expressive finish. Tannins need time to resolve. Best after 2014. 392 cases made" -- HS
