Bodega y Cavas de Weinert Carrascal Malbec - Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot
Mendoza - Lujan de Cuyo
Wine Advocate Review:
"The 2009 Carrascal aged for two and a half years in oak tonel (big oak cask), and is the most popular wine from the winery, with a complex, developed nose of crushed flowers, tea leaves and leather. Very good value.
Weinert is one of the classic names of Argentine wine. I tasted this line up with Brazilian owner Bernardo Weinert, and he also uncorked some older vintages, including the famous 1977 Estrella Malbec, which was still drinking well. These are classic, cement-fermented, cask-aged wines produced and aged in beautiful old cellars."
