Name: Springfield Estate Methode Ancienne Chardonnay
Country: South Africa
Region: Western Cape
Producer: Springfield Estate Wines
Vinous Review: 92 points
"Full golden-yellow color, with an unfiltered appearance. Distinctly riper on the nose than the 2013 Wild Yeast Chardonnay bottling, offering deeper scents of peach and apricot, plus a faint suggestion of Calvados. Then lush and seamless in the mouth, conveying noteworthy richness but a dry impression in spite of its 2.9 g/l r.s. The persistent finish features a lightly dusty phenolic impression and a flavor of crushed stone. Longer and more refined than the 2012 Wild Yeast Chardonnay. A very sexy, satisfying mouthful of wine with plenty of finishing energy and underlying minerality."
