Domaine du Pegau has for a long time been one of my personal favorite Châteauneuf du Papes and I am very excited to share these wines with you! Since 1670, Laurence's ancestors, followed by her great-grandparents and grandparents, have extended the Feraud & Fils Estate to 22 hectares. Laurence, the daughter of Paul and Odette, returned to settle in Châteauneuf du Pape in 1987 having completed her wine studies and wine and spirits business school. She proposed to her parents to create an independent family estate of 5ha and registered the name Pegau. The pegau is a wine jug used in the 14th century during the papal period.

We will taste this flight together on Thursday, April 15th, at 6:30pm here:\

In case you missed it, we have recordings of many of the tastings we have conducted since last March. Let us know if there are any you would like to revisit.

2019 Château Pegau Côtes du Rhône Blanc Cuvée Lone, $19.99

A blend of 40% Clairette, 30% Bourboulenc, 20% Grenache Blanc, and 10% Ugni Blanc, the 2019 Cuvée Lone smells of crushed stone and ripe peaches, creating an intriguing interplay of mineral and fruit on the nose that continues onto the palate where there's a dusty sensation that contrasts the richness of the mouthfeel and maintains a sensation of freshness across the palate and onto the lengthy finish.

2014/2015/2016 Plan Pegau NV, $19.99

Feraud's NV Vin de France Plan Pegau is produced from Pegau-owned plots outside Châteauneuf du Pape. The multi-vintage blend includes varieties not entitled to be grown in Rhône appellations (like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) but also includes about one-third each of Grenache and Syrah. It offers strongly floral-herbal and sometimes leathery elements that mark it as Pegau, silky layers of dark fruit and a dry, savory finish.

2018 Domaine du Pegau Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée, $79.99

Pegau's distinctive violet and garrigue aromas are on full display in the 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée, backed by plummy fruit and velvety tannins. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and rich, with ample length and hints of mocha and licorice on the finish.
