"Aged in 100% French oak, the pale to medium ruby-purple 2016 Pinot Noir Estate Suzanne's Reserve has an intoxicating nose of dried violets, wilted lilacs, clove and pipe tobacco over a core of kirsch, warm blackberries, red licorice and red cherry preserves plus notes of peppercorn, dried leaves and cured meats—wow, there are some layers here! Medium-bodied, it’s lusciously silky in the mouth, giving up tons of warm fruit, spice and earth layers framed by grainy tannins and addicting juicy acidity, finishing long and layered. This still has lots of new oak character but plenty of fruit to soak it up, so wait a couple years before you open it. 70 cases were made."
