This week's tasting - Thursday, April 9 at 6:30 will feature three superb Tuscan reds, all rated 94-95 points by major wine critics.
- 2016 Sette Ponti Crognolo - A blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot, the Crognolo is a tighty focused, medium-bodied red with bright red fruit and wonerful acidity. It is a wine that is delightful now and will improve with time in the bottle for anoher 5-10 years.
- 2015 Castello di Ama Chianti Classico San Lorenzo This is arguably the finest wine made in Chianti Classico in the 2015 vintage. The nose is just glorious, with full-bodied, rich fruit and perfect balance with a long, caressing finish.
- 2016 Fontodi Chianti Classico A beautifully polished, refined wine with superb balance of fruit, tannin and acidity. Made from organically grown grapes.
