We are excited to invite you to be a part of our Sunfish Cellars Virtual Wine Community!
Join us Thursday, May 7th, at 6:30pm for a Zoom conference tasting of fabulous wines from our cellar. Connect at a distance with other people who have a passion for excellent wines from around the world. Follow along with our wine director Hoyt Hill as he tastes the wines in a systematic, professional manner. Learn about grape varieties you may not have tasted before, or about wine regions you may not be familiar with.
This week's tasting will feature three truly wonderful wines from acclaimed Oregon Cabernet Franc pioneer Leah Jorgensen and will be co-hosted by Leah Jorgensen herself! Leah is a visionary for Cabernet Franc in Oregon and her wines are sustainably farmed and Salmon safe. It should be an especially fun tasting since Leah was at one time a stand up comedienne!

This week's tasting includes:
2018 Loiregon Blanc de Cabernet Franc, $27.99
This Cabernet Franc possesses a real mellow beauty to it that is honest, natural, and refreshing. On the nose, it is a rousing mix of lemon, beeswax, and rosemary, gradually giving way to deeper fruity scents like apricot and peach. The palate is quite different, recalling perfectly ripe nectarine, blood orange, a trace of honey, and a somewhat mysterious floral note reminiscent of lilacs.
2017 Tour Rain Vin Rouge, $23.99
This blend of Cabernet Franc and Gamay is a lovely balance of floral, red fruit, and a hint of pepper and sweet wood with aromatics of cherry, raspberry, hibiscus, rose petals, cedar, cigar box, and flavors of bing cherry, raspberry, cocoa powder, clove, and roasted bell pepper. This wine has bright acidity and is juicy with rich, soft tannins. 240 cases made.
2018 Cabernet Franc, $23.99
A complex wine, but also so approachable and easy to like. It smells absolutely beautiful – like a bouquet of flowers saved from a precious occasion. The palate is bright and juicy, tasting of blackberries and ripe cherries, with interesting savory and herbal components in the background.
Remember, you can pick up the wines prior to the conference with curbside pick up or we will deliver them within 15 miles, no charge.
If you are not local, we will ship the three wines to you in time for the tasting. Remember that, on orders of $500 or more, we are not charging for shipping during the quarantine.
Or, if you'd prefer to watch the tasting before purchasing the wines, email Hoyt at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will provide you with the link and password to log on.
We hope you will join us each Thursday at 6:30!
