Join us from 4:00 to 4:30 on Saturday, December 5th, for our next "One Expert, Two Wines, Thirty Minutes" tasting - a tasting of Patagonian Pinot Noirs from Domaine Nico with Nicolas Catena head winemaker, Nesti Bajda. Nesti has joined us twice before and he is an entertaining and informative co-host. And, if we are lucky, he will sing us a Christmas Carol!

Saturday's tasting will include, in this order:
2017 Domaine Nico Soeur et Freres Pinot Noir "Grand Pere", $29.99
The difference between the 2017 Grand Père Pinot Noir and the Grand Mère comes from the soils; they come from the same vineyard but selected from different parts, and this is very stony and full of limestone. There is more austerity and it feels less juicy with very fine tannins and an ethereal texture; it feels light but there is inner strength. It's a very Burgundian Pinot Noir.

2017 Domaine Nico Soeur et Freres Pinot Noir "Grand Mere", $29.99
The 2017 Grand Mère Pinot Noir shows more ripeness than its siblings with notes of red cherries and spices. It's juicy and fresh, quite straightforward, pleasant and easy to drink. There is a touch of spicy oak here that makes it quite attractive.
