Join us Thursday, July 2nd, at 6:30pm for a Zoom tasting of three very special wines from Charles Krug Winery with co-host Peter Mondavi. Peter (together with his brother Marc) is a third-generation co-proprietor of Charles Krug Winery in Napa Valley in California. The grandson of Cesare and Rosa Mondavi, he has a degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University as well as an MBA. Charles Krug includes nine estate vineyards on 850 acres (344 hectares) within Napa Valley and produces wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. Peter’s father (Peter Mondavi Sr.) and his uncle (Robert) had worked together and separately in wine businesses, both of which helped to establish the reputation of Napa Valley wines throughout the world.
Thursday's tasting will include:
2018 Charles Krug Chardonnay, $15.99
The Carneros Napa Chardonnay shines with tropical fruit, citrus blossom, and pineapple aromas. A hint of vanilla precedes flavors of peach, brown sugar, and bright citrus. Vanilla returns with scents of oak leading to a long, supple finish. A classy wine to sip on its own, yet, as always, can be paired with an array of fish or fresh fowl.

Sourced principally from the five family estates in Yountville, the 2017 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon displays black fruit aromas with hints of brown sugar and toffee.
