Join us Thursday, October 15th at 6:30pm for a Zoom Port Tasting (it's the perfect time to think about stocking up on Port for the winter months) with Bartholomew Broadbent and Roy Hersch of Fortheloveofport.com. It is not an exaggeration to say that Bartholomew and Roy are two of the world's most knowledgeable experts on Port, and Bartholomew's wines are superb.

Thursday's tasting will include these three wines, tasted in this order:
Broadbent Auction Reserve Port, $24.99
Broadbent's Auction Reserve offers a smooth, medium-bodied Port that delivers fresh, fruit forward boysenberry and plum flavors with a nice touch of chocolate that adds to the overall enjoyment of this wine. The tannins let you know they have shown up to the party without being obtrusive.

Broadbent 10 Year Old Tawny Port, 500 ml, $24.99
Good depth of color. The best tawnies show some good fruit on the nose. The palate is rich, long and deep. Serve at room temperature or on the rocks. Can be kept open for several months.

2011 Broadbent Vintage Port, $52.99
Black currant acidity cuts sharply through this wine giving it structure and a very fresh character. Made for Broadbent by Niepoort, it is firm, very dry, dark, and dense. This is a wine that will certainly benefit from a few years of bottle age.

We hope to see you every Thursday at 6:30. On October 22nd we are tasting wines from Flowers Vineyards in Sonoma with winemaker Chantal Forthun!
