We bought a very large quantity of this wonderful South African red about a year ago and it disappeared VERY quickly for three reasons:
- Our price is ridiculously low.
- The wine is superb.
- It is already gift-wrapped for Christmas (it comes individually wrapped in bright red paper).
The suggested retail is $75 and one store in Florida has it listed online at $125 but our price is only $34.99!
2012 Ernie Els Signature Red
The Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Signature is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% each of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot; it has a very pure bouquet with cedar-infused blackberry and strawberry fruit. With further investigation, there are touches of incense and cassis, the latter from the Petit Verdot. The palate is smooth and sensual on the entry, just a hint of chocolate (though there is no American oak), with very good depth and it fans out nicely on the finish. It has a hedonistic bent for sure, but Louis Strydom is a skilled winemaker and he pulls it off here, as he has done in previous vintages. Drink now through 2028. 92 points."
The perfect gift for a loved one or friend who is a golfer, and, if they google it, they will think you gave them a $75 bottle of wine!
