Palacios Villa de Corullon Bierzo 2013

We seem to be on a roll with superb Spanish red wines lately (have you tried the 2011 Muga Rioja Prado Enea Grand Reserva or the 2017 Bodegas Olivares Monastrell Old Vines Alto de la Hoya?), and this is another huge success.

The 2013 Jose Palacios Villa de Corullon is rated 95 points by Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate (the reviewer calls it otherworldly) and we have one of the lowest prices in the country at only $39.99!

It is a blend with predominantly a Spanish red grape called Mencia, and is truthfully one of my personal favorite wines. I describe it as a superb red Burgundy from Chambolle-Musigny (it would be a LOT more expensive) with more stuffing and more richness on the palate, but the same elegance and caressing fruit tannins. It is just entering its maturity now and will drink beautifully for ten years at least if stored in a cool place.

This is the perfect red wine for your Thanksgiving feast.

We hope to see you soon at Sunfish Cellars!
