A 94 point, $35 mature Barolo!

Michele Chiarlo Barolo Tortoniano 2013

We have the the superb 2013 Michele Chiarlo Barolo Tortoniano at only $34.99.

I tasted it recently and just loved it so much. The truth is that excellent Barolo doesn't ever sell at this price point, but we found this one. It is medium-bodied, dry, with tannins beginning to soften with 7 years bottle age (it is entering its sweet spot right now and will be beautiful to drink for another ten years), classic Barolo aromas of rose petals and road tar, and an absolutely enthralling finish. If you've always wanted to taste a really fine Barolo but didn't want to spend $60 or more, here is your chance.

James Suckling agrees with us, rating it 94 points, and saying: "full body, ultra-fine tannins and a racy, beautiful finish. 94 points."

Serve it with Spaghettti Bolognese (let me know if you need a recipe) for a match made in heaven.
