A truly once-in-a-lifetime Tuscan red at a truly amazing price

Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Berardo 2015

We tasted the 2015 Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Berardo last week and it is just a wonderful, classic example of Chianti Classico - more full-bodied than many Chiantis, dry with bright red cherry fruit, moderate tannins which are starting to soften with 5 years in the bottle, and a beautiful, lingering floral finish.

James Suckling, who is one of the world's leading experts on Italian wines, agrees with us, saying: "The floral aromas are so enticing with rose petals and lavender, which follow through to a full body with beautiful density of fruit. A long and complete finish. The best Chianti Classico ever made here in living memory. Even better than the 1961. Drink or hold. 98 points."

The suggested retail is $35, but according to a website that monitors online wine pricing worldwide, we have the lowest price in the US for this superb wine at only $28.99!

Serve it with a pan-seared ribeye steak (you can pick one up in our deli when you pick up the wine!) glazed with balsamic vinegar and topped with Gorgonzola (let me know if you need a recipe) for a match made in heaven!
