It is fermented under a blanket of Flor, which is the indigenous yeast culture that most commonly forms on open fermenters for Fino Sherry. The Flor contributes richness and a unique nutty character to this very special and unique wine.
At only $22.99, according to a website which tracks online wine pricing worldwide, it is the lowest price in the US. It is #2 on James Suckling's list of the world's 100 Best Value Wines in 2020 (the #1 wine is an Australian Riesling which is unavailable in the US) with a 97 point rating: "This is another rock-star chardonnay from here with dried-apple, pear-skin, crushed-stone and peach-pit character. Full body. Creamy texture. Phenolic form and a long, flavorful finish. Drink or hold."
