We were blown away by this dry Riesling

If asked to list the best places in the world for cultivating Riesling grapes, my response would be The Rheingau and Mosel in Germany, Austria, northern Italy, McLaren Vale in Australia, Alsace and The Finger Lakes in New York State. All of these places produce excellent Rieslings but each place contributes something which makes the wines unique.

When we tasted the 2018 Forge Cellars Dry Riesling Freese Vineyard, we were blown away. It illustrates perfectly what makes the best Finger Lakes Rieslings special. Bright fennel, lemon peel, white peach, and star fruit notes mix on a racy frame, backed by a minerally zing on the finish. Wine Spectator agrees with us, giving it a 91 point score! At only $17.99, it is the perfect white wine for Spring and Summer!

Stuff a whole red snapper or grouper with fresh fennel fronds, grill it, and drizzle it with a little olive oil, lemon juice, and fleur de sel for a match made in heaven!
